Busy Busy Bees

Well this past weekend or should I say Saturday (lol) was an extremely busy one!! And it just starts off our busy month of May!!! On Friday we had my belated birthday date night!! It consisted of doing exactly what I wanted to do... NOTHING!! We had dinner at home, relaxed, and watched movies on the couch.. PERFECT!!! Saturday morning we got up early to head off to Rich's Union "Old Timers" Picnic. It's always a good time to see our friends and have some free food and drinks! The weather was really nice except for a bit of wind that I could have done without...

Next we headed to Rich's sister, Christy's house, for a bbq/pool party for our niece Alexis' 4th Birthday!!! Alexis had the cutest princess cake I've ever seen!! It had Cinderella and the Prince on it and tasted marvelous!!! We swam for awhile, ate some more food and then headed home to get ready for our next stop...

Aubrey and Marc's combined Bachelor/Bachelorette Party at the Half Shell!! It was a lot of fun!! Hanging out with good friends, dancing, and mingling!! I always feel a little awkward in a bar while being pregnant, but it was for a good cause!! I'm so excited for Marc and Aubz... only 2 weeks til their BIG DAY!!!

After getting home kind of late, we were both ready for bed after the long day we had! We woke up and didnt get out of bed until almost 1pm. It was such a nice feeling... one that we probably wont get once our little man arrives!! ;) We then headed to see our niece, Kailee play the piano at her spring recital!! She did awesome!!!

Home we went for more relaxing and movie time!! I'm trying to make sure that we enjoy all of our downtime as much as possible now because once August comes around it's all about CONNOR CONNOR CONNOR!!! :) Countdown to Connor... only 3 months!!!! Wow how time flies!!!


April 29, 2010.... 26 weeks and getting rounder!!!

Oooh Baby Baby!! :)

As we all have learned... I'm not very good at keeping this updated so far... I promise I'll get better!! SO here goes again... catching up.... on a lot!!

First things first.... we have decided on a name for our handsome little man!! CONNOR RICHARD MILLER!! We debated a bit, but we both have liked the name long before we found out we were going to be parents, so we stuck with what we liked from the beginning!!! :) I know that WE love it, but we have gotten great reviews from outsiders so far! Lol. Everyone has said that it is a very masculine name! I happen to agree!!

We have also finished painting Connor's room and I've finished making a few cute decorations for the room too! We have received our baby furniture, now just need to get it all assembled!! We've decided to go with a pirate theme/bedding that I found online, it is amazing!! I've been doing some searching for decorations and such to go with it. There is such cute stuff out there!! Once we get the room a little more "finished" I'll post some pictures!!

About a week and a half ago we took Thor up to Red Rock Canyon with some friends for a little bit of hiking. We didn't do anything too strenuous of course, but it was nice to get out and get some fresh mountain air!! I have been feeling great lately!! I now can consistently feel him moving around in my belly!! Rich even got to see him moving around through my skin! It's so crazy to watch!! I love feeling him move around and kick and squirm... he loves when I drink orange juice a lot!! He is probably the most active after that!! I can't wait to meet him and hold him!!

This past weekend I celebrated my 27th birthday!! HOLY COW I'M GETTING OLD!!! Lol. Rich hap planned a trip to Laughlin for the River Run with his brother for the weekend and I didn't really want to attempt going this year...I'm all for it next year though! So on Friday I had dinner with some of my girls at Buffalo Wild Wings!! Yummmmyy!! I was craving it! :) It was nice to get with them and hang out and chit chat for awhile. Afterwards my friend Erin and I went to Coldstone!! Even more yum!! Saturday was a relaxing day of doing not much but laying in the backyard catching some rays... and then Sunday morning Rich came home to me!! We BBQ'd and hung out by the pool with his brother and sister and her family. It was a gorgeous day!! Rich even made me a birthday cake... his first baking experience ever and it turned our wonderful!! Lol.

All in all, things are going great!! We have an EXTREMELY busy month of May coming up! Including a couple birthdays, a wedding, and a trip back to Cincinnati to see my family (SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!). I'll make sure to update everyone as much as possible!!

Baby Bump Pic

Yesterday Aubrey, her son Carson, and I went to Babies R Us for a little bit more baby registering!! I didn't add too much more... maybe some more clothes than before... but either way it is fun just to walk around that place!!

I feel my belly starting to stretch a little more over the last couple of days... but I have been lotioning at least twice a day to maybe help minimize stretch marks! Below is a recent belly picture.... this was taken today, April 1, 2010... I am exactly 22 weeks!! Woohoo!! I'm telling you, time is just a tickin by!!! :)

I've been slacking on the blog alot... so here is catching up.....

Tomorrow I will be 22 weeks!! I feel like the time is moving along and speaking of moving... so is our little man!!! I started to feel him every great once in awhile at about 18 weeks... but now I can feel him move around a lot more!! It is such an amazing feeling!!! Rich even got to feel one of his harder kicks the other day and he was so excited!! It's still rare that his kicks can be felt from the outside, but every now and again he kicks a little bit harder. It's kind of neat to start to recognize a pattern in his schedule though. Sometimes it varies of course... but there are certain times everyday when he is consistantly active!!

I went this past weekend with my friend Lauren to start my baby registry at Babies R Us. Boy was it a little overwhelming! There is so much stuff at that store! I got a lot of the basics picked out and it was fun to see all the different things they have for babies. I'm going again today with my friend Aubrey and her son Carson, who is 5 months, to continue the search :) It's fun just looking at all the cool stuff they have there. I especially like the Amy Coe clothes. She has a funkier side and if you know me at all.... I'm definitely lean on the funkier side!! :)

I went to my 22 week appointment yesterday and doc says that things are looking great! My uterus is about 22cm! Which is right on target! I got to hear the little mans heart beat and it gets more amazing every time!! His heart rate has been pretty consistant at about 145.

Other than all that, I've been feeling great lately!! Tying my shoes is becoming harder... but thank goodness flip flop season in arriving!! I'll have to get a new belly picture up soon for everyone! I can't believe we only have 4 more months until we're parents!! I can not wait to meet our little guy!!! We've discussed names and are pretty sure that we're set on one (finally) but until it's certain I'm keeping it hush hush!! Lol.

This coming weekend, Easter weekend, will be our final trip of the riding season to Dumont Sand Dunes. Unfortunately there will be no riding time for me... but the weather is supposed to be gorgeous so maybe I can catch some rays!! Once we get home, our focus is on the nursery! We've picked out the paint, now just need to get started!!

WE'RE HAVING A BOY!!!!!!!!! :)

So, today I am 18 weeks.... and it's official.... WE"RE HAVING A BOY!!!!

We are both sooooo excited!!! Our reactions were just amazing! At the beginning of the ultrasound we were told that even if we couldn't tell the sex of the baby early in the ultrasound, we would be able to at some point. The sonographer put the wand on my stomach and literally in seconds said, "Oh yeah, it's definitely a boy!" Then she showed us "the goods" and took a great picture for us that Rich say he wants to frame! Lol. Rich got so excited at the baby being a boy that he yelled for joy and I instantly teared up!! I'm not sure if the tears came more from finding out that it was a boy or just seeing our perfect little munchkin on the screen!!

He (the baby) was so active and moved around so much throughout the ultrasound!! He sure put on a great show for us... stretching, waving, rolling around!! We even got a shot of his cute little baby butt! The sonographer checked his spine, kidneys, brain, heart, fingers, toes, lips, nose and more! It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen! He weighs 8 ounces and his heartbeat was at 150. I just wonder how it's going to feel once I start feeling him do all his crazy acrobatics!!! I'm telling you, he was such a wiggle worm!!

We're thinking up themes for his room and hopefully can get it painted soon. We have some ideas... but you never know, our minds could change. I can't wait to get some shopping in and buy a few things for him!

Today has been a great day!! Rich and I both are smiling from ear to ear!! What a wonderful feeling!! I can't describe enough the feeling of seeing something so perfect that we created!!! I can't wait til the day when we get to meet our perfect little man!!! :)

President's Day Weekend

Well, it's President's day and we are quickly approaching pregnancy week 16!! Sometimes it feels like the time is flying and other times it feels like it's going so slow! (I guess that it seems to go slow in between appointments) but I know the little munchkin will be here before we know it!!

This past weekend we went out to the Dumont Sand Dunes for a whole weekend of camping, riding, and fun with friends!! I squeezed 40 hours into 4 days so I could take Friday off and we could get on the road early! We left at about 7AM Friday morning and met some friends and away we went!! In total there was about 15 of us (including 2 little ones). The weather was absolutely beautiful... about 70 and sunny everyday... sorry for those of you battling more wintery storms :( I got on the quad a few times for some low key riding and boy was I wishing I could go up some hills and go a little faster... but my time will come. We went out to a place called Competition Hill at night time, and I'm telling you it sure was the party spot!! All-in-all it was a perfect weekend!! I have been feeling pretty good (still a little sleepier than normal) but feeling good! Richie was a little worried about me riding on the quad (which I thought was so sweet) but I figured if it was at all bad the doctor would have told me to just stay away from riding completely. I did keep it to a minimum though... I didn't want to worry Rich. A majority of my riding time was spent going to and from the bathroom! LOL! I got a little sunburned after the whole weekend, but it was totally worth it!! We got home yesterday and crashed early! Back to work and the real world today :(

Tonight we celebrate our own little Valentines Day with a fondue dinner at home :) Nothing too fancy, just the two of us relaxing together!

Only 2 1/2 weeks and counting until we get to find out if we're having a little boy Miller or a little girl Miller!!! :)

Second Trimester... We have arrived!!!

Well we've made it to the beginning of the second trimester!!! Wooooohooooo!!!

As of yesterday I was 14 weeks!! Rich and I went to the doctor yesterday for our monthly appointment and we finally got to hear the baby's heartbeat!!!! I can't reiterate enough how truly amazing that sounds is!!! Not that it wasn't real before, but hearing the heartbeat just makes it sink in even more that we are going to have a little Miller crawling around!! :) I definitely teared up a little when I heard it. I have a pregnancy journal that goes through each day of pregnancy and tells you how the baby is growing that day and it has been really neat learning how the growing process is progressing, I never would have thought that it was so fast! Our next appointment is in 4 weeks and we'll be getting an ultrasound then to check the anatomy of the baby and to find out if we're having a boy or a girl!!!! I'm really anxious to find out!! I know a lot of women say that they have a "feeling" that it's one or the other... but me, I have no idea!!! Lol. I also have to go get some bloodwork done next week to test for down syndrome. The bloodwork isn't necessarily a test for it specifically, but let's the doctor know if we are canidates to have further testing done. We'll keep our fingers crossed!!

Other than the baby day-dreaming that I've been doing, we've just been laying low and relaxing at home. I now know what all my "Mom" friends were talking about because I have become a huge fan of lounging in my pajama pants, even more than I was before. It's way more comfortable!! I haven't really delved into the whole "maternity clothes" thing yet, but as the days go on, I'm probably going to need to soon!! I feel like my belly is starting to round out a little more now, so it doesn't seems like I'm just getting fat like in my earlier weeks. Although I feel like my belly is already huge!! ;) We'll most likely be resting up most of this week for our camping trip out to the Dumont Sand Dunes for President's Day weekend!!! I even got approval from our doctor to putt around on the quad a little bit which makes me one happy girl!!! :)
